Dual Immersion & Magnet Application

Apply Now for the 2025-26 School Year!

GUSD dual language immersion and magnet programs require an application. Students are selected each year by a random lottery.

Students entering the dual language immersion program after first grade must demonstrate proficiency in their target language.

Applications submitted after January 31, 2025, will be added to our waitlist.

Step 1

Step 2

laptopSign up for a language assessment (dual immersion target language speakers only)

If you are applying for a dual language immersion program and your child speaks the target language of the program to which you are applying, make an appointment for a language assessment when you apply online. If this is not available through the application, a district representative will contact you.

Students who pass the language assessment qualify as "target language proficient speakers" for the enrollment lottery.

Step 3

Computer with check marksOnce an offer is made, complete enrollment paperwork

Following the lottery in February, applicants will be notified if they have been accepted to a dual language immersion or magnet program. Once you receive an acceptance, you must complete a district-required enrollment packet within three weeks. Admission to the school is not confirmed until your enrollment packet is complete and approved. 

Step 4

PaperIf coming to us from out-of-district, obtain a release and apply for an inter-district permit

On or after March 1, apply for a release from your district of residence and apply for an inter-district permit with GUSD by visiting glendale.schoolmint.com. You must obtain a permit in order to enroll.
