Managing Food Insecurity
GUSD is closely monitoring the situation regarding disruption of CalFresh/EBT benefits for local families due to the federal government shutdown. We understand the impact this may have on some members of our community and want to reassure you that GUSD nutrition services are not affected–all students will continue to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge. In addition, our Nutrition Services team will be donating leftover food items to Food Cycle LA and the Salvation Army to further support community members in need.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Student Wellness at (818) 241-3111 Ext. 1559 if your family needs assistance with food or other hardships.
The LA County Office of Education has also published a countywide resource guide which may offer additional support.
