Half-Day Preschool (Income-Eligible Students Only)

Available only for income-eligible families who qualify for subsidized services.

Children are admitted according to waiting list procedures established and monitored by the California Department of Education.

Our GUSD preschools provide a safe, nurturing environment that prepares students for TK and kindergarten. Preschool instruction is based on the California Department of Education Preschool Learning Foundations.

  • Available only for income-eligible families that qualify for subsidized services.
  • There is no fee for the program
  • Spaces are limited
  • Enrollment is offered to four-year-old children first, then three-year-olds
  • Children must be three years old by December 1 of the school year in which they enroll

  • Cerritos, Columbus, and Jefferson Elementary Schools

Program Hours

The half-day preschool program operates three hours each day. Lunch is provided to all students. 

  • Morning session: 8:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon session: 12:30-3:30 p.m.
