Both the classified and certificated summer school applications are available starting Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and are due on Friday, April 19, 2024.

2024 Summer School Teaching Application
The 2024 Summer School Application for Teaching is now available.  The application includes secondary summer school programs, Special Education Extended School Year (ESY), extended session at College View, and our preschool special education program.  If you are interested in teaching in any of these programs, please click the link below to complete the application form through the Frontline hiring system.  All applications must be submitted electronically through this system.  Paper applications will not be accepted.  

• When you click Apply, you will be directed to an Applicant Tracking Window.  Click Start to set up an account, and then complete the application.  Please note that even if you have a Frontline Account for absence management and requesting a substitute teacher, you will need to create a new account.  
• You will have the option to start your application, and Save as a Draft if you would like to finish your application at a later time.  Make sure you select Finish and Submit when your application is complete. 
• The application must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024, to be considered in the priority pool.  Applications will continue to be accepted after this deadline, but WILL BE GIVEN THE LOWEST PRIORITY IN SELECTION.  Please note that you must select Finish and Submit to submit your application for consideration.
• On May 10, 2024, employees will be notified regarding their summer school offer by 5:00 PM.

2024 Classified Summer School Application

The 2024 Classified Summer School Application is now available.  This year, the Extended School Year program (ESY) will be held from June 10, 2024, through July 16, 2024. This application must be submitted online by 4:00 on Friday, April 19, 2024.  Paper applications will not be accepted.

Positions are available for the following classifications: 

• Behavior Intervention Assistant (BIA)
• Education Assistant II- Special Education
• Education Assistant- Intensive Support (EAIS)
• Interpreter for the Deaf
• Special Education Assistant (SEA)
• Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Completing this application does not guarantee employment.  Assignments will be made based on program needs and work availability.  Priority is given to permanent District employees in the classification needed.  All offers for summer employment are made by the Human Resources office in late May or early June.  

It is expected that employees who accept the assignments commit to the full length of the assignment.  Employees who fail to complete their assignments may not be considered for future summer employment.  The special education department reserves the right to end a summer assignment at any time if the program's needs are not met.
