Principal’s Message:

On Wednesday we hosted all the incoming 9th graders from Roosevelt and Toll. We had over 500 students present. I want to thank all of our student groups for greeting our future Tornados and showing them why Hoover is a special place.

I want to thank ASB and all our groups for a great rally on Thursday. These are the events that make Hoover special!

I want to congratulate all of our student athletes on a great Winter season. Girls Basketball, Girls Water Polo, Boys Soccer all did a great job throughout the season and represented Hoover well. Our Wrestling team had league finals this past week, with a few individuals winning the league and qualifying for CIF. Also, our Hoover Winterline and Winterguard had their first performances this weekend. Our Pep team has Nationals coming up later this month. A special shout out to our Girls Soccer team who shutout Glendale 4-0 on Friday and to our Boys Basketball team who won a thriller against Glendale last week. Congratulations to Boys Basketball who have officially made the CIF playoffs and will play on Wednesday!

Counselors will continue visiting classrooms this week to assist students in registering for classes for next year.

We look forward to a great week ahead!

As always, Tornados are Responsible, Respectful, and Engaged!

Tutoring

Just a reminder that we are still offering tutoring this spring. Second semester is a fresh start, if you are not happy with your grades or got an F or a D in any A-G or graduation requirement class. Remember, grades of “C” or higher means 4-year colleges and universities. Please reflect on your semester 1 grades. What worked? What didn’t? Communicate with teachers, counselors, admin, coaches. Most importantly, get help and attend tutoring. See the schedule below:

As we look ahead to 2024-25, we are asking families to let us know your plans for next school year. On February 2, you received an intent to return the survey from GUSD Student Support Services. Please complete the survey form by Tuesday, February 20. You must complete a separate survey for each student who currently attends a GUSD school. You do not need to complete the survey for graduating seniors. Thank you for your support!
