Transportation Safety Information
-
Students can help keep every bus ride safe by following a few important expectations:
- Arrive at the bus stop approximately five minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
- Wait a safe distance from the roadway until the bus has stopped and the door has opened.
- Board and exit the bus in an orderly manner.
- Remain seated and follow the bus driver's directions.
- Never cross behind a school bus.
- When crossing the street is required, follow the bus driver’s instructions and wait for the driver’s signal before crossing.
-
For student safety, a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult must present a valid government-issued photo ID before a student is released from the bus. The individual must also be listed as authorized to receive the student.
Families should keep their students’ authorized pickup information current with the district.
-
Students who are transported by school bus receive instruction in school bus safety and emergency procedures. This includes information about emergency exits, evacuation procedures, passenger conduct, and emergency equipment.
