Digital Communications Guidelines

Glendale Unified School District uses official websites and social media platforms to communicate with students, families, staff, and the community. These platforms support the District’s vision and goals and are intended to provide accurate, timely, and accessible information.

  • Official District social media accounts are used to share news, highlight student and staff achievements, and engage with the community.

    To maintain a safe and respectful environment, content that includes harassment, hate speech, threats, obscene language, spam, or confidential or personal information may be removed.

    District social media accounts are limited-purpose communication platforms and are moderated in accordance with Board Policy 1114.

  • District and school websites are designed to provide accessible, accurate, and useful information for students, families, staff, and community members. Content is reviewed and approved prior to posting to ensure consistency, professionalism, and alignment with District goals.

    Websites are maintained in accordance with Board Policy 1113.

  • The District is committed to protecting the privacy rights of students, families, staff, and community members.

    The following information will not be published on District websites or social media:

    • Student or family phone numbers, home addresses, or email addresses
    • Employee personal contact information
    • Confidential District or student information
    • Personal information of public officials without written consent

    Student photographs may be used in accordance with District policy unless a parent/guardian has opted out.

  • The District reserves the right to remove content that violates Board policies, including content that is inappropriate, disruptive, or harmful.

    All activity on District digital platforms may be subject to public records laws.
