Two Glendale Unified Schools Named California Exemplary Arts Education Award Winners

Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) is proud to announce that Crescenta Valley High School and Mark Keppel Elementary School have been named recipients of the prestigious California Exemplary Arts Education Award (EAEA), a distinction awarded to only 19 schools across the state.
With two schools recognized, GUSD represents more than 10% of all awardees across California, underscoring the District’s leadership in arts education and its commitment to ensuring students have access to meaningful, well-rounded learning experiences.
“This recognition speaks to the dedication of our teachers and school communities, who work every day to ensure students have access to inspiring and enriching arts education,” said Superintendent Dr. Darneika Watson. “The arts play a vital role in supporting the whole child, and we are proud to see two of our schools recognized as leaders in this work.”
As award recipients, both schools will serve as model arts programs for the state over the next two years, highlighting best practices in arts education that support student learning and well-being.
