Three GHS Seniors Earn Prestigious QuestBridge Scholarships

Glendale High School is proudly celebrating three seniors who have been named QuestBridge Scholars and accepted to some of the nation’s most prestigious universities.QuestBridge connects high-achieving students with top colleges and transformative opportunities, providing support and resources to help them thrive academically, professionally, and personally.
Kelly Kintanar has been matched with Northwestern University, Izabela Petrosyan with Cornell University, and Azucena Martinez with Stanford University. Through the highly competitive QuestBridge National College Match program, these students earned full four-year scholarships that cover tuition, housing, meals, and other educational expenses.
For Izabela Petrosyan, who plans to study mechanical engineering at Cornell, Glendale High School played a pivotal role in her journey after immigrating from Armenia. “If it wasn’t for Glendale High School, I wouldn’t even know about QuestBridge,” she shared, noting that the school’s diversity helped her build meaningful connections and prepare for the collaborative environment she looks forward to in college.
Azucena Martinez, who plans to pursue a biology pre-med pathway at Stanford University, emphasized the importance of personal support during the application process. “Confidence-wise, my school really helped me,” she said, crediting her counselor, Ms. Gonzalez, for being consistently supportive and encouraging throughout the journey.
Kelly Kintanar, who will study psychology on a pre-med track at Northwestern University, highlighted the abundance of academic and extracurricular resources available on campus. “Anytime I needed support, there were teachers willing to step up and help me,” she shared, adding that engaging classes, clubs, and programs motivated her to push herself both academically and personally.
These remarkable accomplishments reflect the dedication of Glendale High School students and the strong support systems that help them thrive. Glendale Unified proudly congratulates Kelly, Izabela, and Azucena on this outstanding achievement.
