Glendale Unified Partners with Walgreens to Host Johnson & Johnson Vaccination Clinic
GLENDALE, CA – Glendale Unified School District is partnering with Walgreens to host a vaccination clinic for employees and eligible household members on Saturday, March 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Glendale High School. Walgreens will administer the single-dose Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine (Johnson & Johnson). Glendale Unified already facilitated vaccination appointments for all 2,600 of the District’s employees who wanted to be vaccinated the first week in March. The Walgreens-GUSD vaccination clinic expands the opportunity to employees’ household members who are eligible to receive the vaccine based on state and county guidelines. “Glendale Unified has been a leader in facilitating vaccines for teachers and staff to ensure a safe return to in-person instruction this spring,” said Glendale Unified Board of Education President Dr. Armina Gharpetian. “We are very excited to expand the opportunity for vaccination to include eligible members of our employees’ households.” “As we have prepared for the careful and deliberate return of students for on-campus instruction, we have listened to the needs of our employees, families, and community,” said Glendale Unified Superintendent Dr. Vivian Ekchian. “We know that some of our employees returning to work in person are concerned for the more vulnerable members of their households and we are very pleased to offer the opportunity for those household members to be vaccinated before we resume in-person learning.” Glendale Unified Health and Safety Measures # # # |
