If we reach our goal, students will get to Slime Mr. Yi and Mr. Ouweleen!
Verdugo Woodlands is proud to partner with the American Heart Association and to help those with special hearts! Our Kids Heart Challenge event will be kicking off on Tuesday, October 22nd and we can't wait to get started!
Mrs. Moreno, a 5th grade teacher, was born with a heart valve defect, called aorticstenosis, which means one of her main heart valves was too narrow to properly move blood. She has had 3 open heart surgeries. She is so grateful for all the research that has been done by the American Heart Association to help people with special hearts and to teach people how to take care of their hearts. Willa Koehler is in the 5th grade and was born with a special heart that only has 3 chambers instead of 4. She is a brave girl who has had 3 open heart surgeries. She used to get tired easily and couldn't run a lot, but now she can run like all the other kids. She will probably need a pacemaker one day so please donate to the American Heart Association to help people with special hearts like Mrs. Moreno and Willa.
