I’m sure that by now you have received the news that Superintendent Ekchian has followed guidelines from the State Superintendent and the Governor and decided that we will continue remote learning through the end of the school year. All of us are full of emotions. We miss our students so much and we had hoped that we would all return to Cerritos in May.
The best thing for all of us to do right now is to remain positive and support our children. That is why it is essential that you communicate with your child’s teacher. I am personally calling any family that has not contacted the teacher through email or Class Dojo! We need to work as a team and communication is essential to ensure that our students keep learning and are ready for next year.
Cerritos teachers and staff are committed to our wonderful students and families. I know there are many challenges to your child learning remotely from home. We are all new to this! If you have any concerns about remote learning, please contact me via email at PChavez@gusd.net or you can call the school office at (818) 244-7207. We are checking messages throughout the day.
As always, thank you families for all your amazing support. Let’s work through this together. Stay safe, healthy and POSITIVE!!
