Rosemont Cross Country
Practices: Mondays (3-4:30 p.m.) and Thursdays (3-4) (no practices on min. days and holidays)
Location: meet in Rosemont’s amphitheatre (practices held at Two Strike Park on Mondays and at Rosemont on Thursdays)
About the program: The Rosemont Cross Country program is a free sports program for all Rosemont students who are interested in running and who would like to increase their
fitness levels and running skills. The program runs from August through mid October. (Informational meeting will be held on Aug. 22 from 2:50-3.) Participants will have the opportunity to participate in the Staub/Barnes Cross Country Invitational at C.V. Park (late September?), Running Under the Oaks (Sept. 28 at C.V. Park), and in the Mt. SAC middle school race (Oct. 18). (For those who participated last year, there is no LA84 Run For Fun program or race in December this season.)
Equipment needed: good-fitting running shoes, water bottle, running attire (shorts & T-shirts). We have team jerseys for races, and you may purchase a team T-shirt as well.
About the practices: Ten-minute informational meeting is Aug. 22 after school. First running practice will be Monday, Aug. 26, from 3-4:30 and will continue each Mon. (3-4:30) and Thurs. (3-4) through Oct. 17. Temperatures can be hot in the fall, so practice may be cancelled if the weather is excessively hot. Please register for text alerts via Remind so that you are aware of schedule changes.
Stay connected: Parents and students can text @run-19 to 81010 to receive Remind text alerts about the team. Or to receive messages via email, send an email to email@example.com. You will receive text or email message updates on team practices and upcoming running events.
