Valley View info (Virtual Coffee, Student Items Pickup)

Good evening Valley View, this is Dr. Reynolds with some updates and reminders.
This Friday we have another Virtual Coffee with the principal. Back by popular demand, we will have Mrs. Kaufman joining us again to continue the discussion on how to support yourself and family.

Meeting ID: 433 036 285

On Wednesday, May 27th we will distributing student materials and personal items from their classrooms. This will also be a time to return school items such as library books and musical instruments.

We are NOT collecting the Chromebooks checked out earlier this year for they are still needed to access the curriculum for the remainder of the academic year. The District has decided to allow students to keep the Chromebooks over the summer as optional enrichment activities will be sent to parents at a later date. If you are not returning to GUSD next year, you may return the Chromebooks at the district office after the academic school year.

To maintain safety for families and staff here is our plan for pickup:

We have designated times based on students last names to limit the number of parents on campus at one time.
If your last name starts with A-I your pickup time is 11:00 am-12:00 pm
If your last name starts with J-R your pickup time is 1:00-2:00 pm
If your last name starts with S-Z your pickup time is 2:00-3:00 pm

Please follow all state and county regulations during the pickup process.
• Do not leave home if you are sick with a fever or respiratory symptoms or are currently under isolation or quarantine.
• Only one parent should pick items up. No children please.
• Wear a face covering while on campus.
• Practice physical distancing. Stay at least six (6) feet from others.

You will enter from the front gate and cones will be placed approximately 6-8 feet apart. Please move up to the last cone not occupied by someone. Once you have finished the process, you will exit from the parking lot gate.
Please be kind and patient. We will do our best.

Please join Board of Education members, students, staff, families, and community partners as we celebrate the launch of our Glendale Unified College Success Fund!

This year, Glendale Unified School District was awarded a $200,000 Every Kid Counts College Savings Program grant from the California Student Aid Commission. We used EKC grant funds and private donations and created the "Glendale Unified College Success Fund" to open a college savings account for each of our 2,000 first grade students and deposit the first $50 into each account.
