PTA Message of Support

Good Evening Valley View Families,

This is Sarah Stehly, your PTA President. Reflecting on the past few weeks I am reminded what makes our school an exceptional community. We have amazing teachers adapting to this new method of instruction, we have an amazing principal reading stories for our children and being available for us on Zoom Coffees, and we have amazing families who are helping each other with humor, grocery runs, and physically distanced hangouts. Our role as parents and as PTA has changed dramatically as we no longer have a physical space we can utilize for events, appreciating our teachers, and even just our children being at school or child care while we work. We are only a few weeks into our journey together, but the experience looks very different for each family. Some of us have steady income while others have lost their jobs or are single parents trying to work while also facilitating learning. Many of us have high risk family members, have lost loved ones we can't properly mourn, or are working essential jobs in the supermarkets and hospitals. No matter what happens over the course of our time apart, I don't want you to feel isolated. I hope that we can continue to support each other through these circumstances. I don't know what concerns you today, but you aren't alone. Your family is an important part of Valley View and the community as a whole. I wanted to reach out with a list of resources you might find helpful and if you have any questions, please get in touch. I can't wait to see you in the hallways, at assemblies, and even at meetings again, but for now I will have to settle for waving at a distance and video chats.

Have a wonderful evening and Go Eagles!

Sarah Stehly
