Keppel Weekly News 9/13/21

Good Evening Keppel Families,

This week is a normal school week, with a school spirit day on Wednesday and a college spirit day on Friday. There is a District Board meeting at 4:30 on Tuesday and a PTA Association Meeting at 9:00 am on Wednesday. Please join us via Zoom. Meeting ID number is 875 093 9570.

The Arts are well underway at Keppel. I hope your child is sharing with you all the great things happening in music, art, dance and drama. Don't forget that our MKS Family Fund Drive is underway and MKS is asking for $120 per student to support the arts.

We have had 3 classes reach 100% in our PTA membership drive. Keep those memberships coming is as our school goal is 100% participation schoolwide. Membership is just $10 per person. All family members can join.

PTA is continuing with their Sneaker Drive. Please bring any sneakers that your child has outgrown or shoes you no longer need to donate to PTA. There are big, beautiful collection boxes at both school entrances.

It’s that time of year again! National PTA is hosting its annual Reflections art contest. This year’s theme is “I Will Change the World By…” and students can enter in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and the Visual Arts. There is also a Special Artist category for students who identify as having a disability. Entries are due no later than Friday, October 15. For more information, please visit and click on “Events” or email And keep your eyes peeled for a flyer in this week’s Thursday folder.

Please remember - The front office will not accept forgotten water bottles, jackets, lunches, homework, etc after a child is at school. One of our school rules is responsibility, so work with your child to help them remember to gather all of their belongings before heading out to school.

Students must be ON TIME TO SCHOOL. If they are not IN THEIR SEAT at 8:00 am they are marked tardy. There is no grace period. Please get up 5 minutes earlier if you are arriving to school late.

We appreciate your support as we help our students to be their very best selves!!

Also, don’t forget – vented masks are no longer allowed at school. Children who are wearing them will be given a replacement mask.

Thank you,

Ms. Tonoli
