Kathleen Cross Elected to California School Boards Association Delegate Assembly
GLENDALE, CA – Glendale Unified Board of Education Member Kathleen Cross has been elected to serve on the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Delegate Assembly. Ms. Cross is currently serving her first term as GUSD Board of Education Member. She was initially elected in June 2022. She will join her fellow GUSD Board Member and current Delegate Assembly Member Shant Sahakian as one of 11 Delegates representing the San Gabriel Valley and East Los Angeles regions.
As CSBA’s primary policymaking body, the Delegate Assembly is the key link in the association’s governance structure. It is made up of approximately 280 local school board members who are elected or appointed in 21 geographic regions throughout the state. Delegates serve two-year terms and ensure that CSBA policies and decisions align with the priorities of California school districts and county offices of education.
“As a Board of Education Member, Kathleen Cross has quickly proven herself to be an effective leader who actively listens to the community and makes thoughtful decisions that reflect the best interests of our Glendale Unified students, employees, and families,” said Glendale Unified Board of Education President Nayiri Nahabedian. “These qualities will make her a valuable asset in representing our region on the CSBA Delegate Assembly.”
