Dear Glendale Unified Students, Families, Employees, and Community,
In honor of Veterans Day, I would like to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the brave and dedicated members of our Armed Services. Your courage and sacrifice preserve our freedom, keep our country safe and strong, and set an example for our children.
I am an immigrant to the United States. Like many Americans, both born and naturalized, I feel incredibly fortunate to live in a country that values human rights and the thoughtful exchange of ideas and opinions. It is important to remember the sacrifices that brave women and men have made, and continue to make, so we may enjoy these freedoms. We must also remember that millions of people around the world, including many of our own families living abroad, continue to struggle for these same rights.
Please take a moment this Veterans Day to say thank you those in your life who have given themselves in service to our country. Let us all honor their legacy by upholding the American values of democracy, peace, and justice, and by making a commitment to listen to one another and work together to create a safer, more inclusive and peaceful world.
