Conflict in Artsakh

Armenian | Korean | Spanish

Dear Glendale Unified Students, Families, Employees and Community:

As you may have learned, there is escalating conflict along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan following an attack by Azerbaijan on the Republic of Artsakh. This is a tragic moment in history and my heart is with all of the families who have been torn apart by these aggressions.

In times of unrest, it is important that we come together and support one another as a community. Please show empathy and kindness to our students, employees, and families who, as diasporan Armenians, may feel a heightened impact from this situation, and particularly those who may have family members living in the affected areas.

I want to reaffirm Glendale Unified School District’s commitment to providing a safe learning environment and emotional support for all students. Although we remain physically distant, Glendale Unified has counseling and mental health resources available for those who need it. You can find more information at

We are a diverse school district that welcomes students and families from all over the world. It is important that we embrace each other’s differences and be kind to one another as we work together to build a stronger Glendale Unified community.
