About Our School
At Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, students in kindergarten through 6th grade are engaged in a rigorous academic program and provided the opportunity to build cultural awareness, and develop high levels of language proficiency and literacy in both English and the target language: French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
Students participate in a research-based, 90/10 FLAG dual immersion program. Instructional practices which support high achievement for all students include cooperative learning, differentiated instruction, flexible grouping, and team teaching. Students who begin in kindergarten should develop high levels of language proficiency and literacy in both English and the target language by the end of 6th grade.
