    Clark Magnet High School is an award-winning, four-year specialized school offering a blend of rigorous curriculum and emphasizing science, mathematics, and advanced technologies.

    Our pathways in engineering, environmental science, cinema, animation, and photography afford students the opportunity to explore possible career options in these fields while preparing for college and life beyond.

    The mission of Clark Magnet High School is to provide ethnically diverse students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a highly-competitive technological world. Clark graduates will possess the foundation necessary to pursue their academic and career goals, to compete successfully in the world market, and to be creative, critical, analytical, lifelong learners.

    Strands of learning provide a curricular focus for our students. The emphasis of study for each strand is described below:

    • Math, Science, and Engineering – Core academic classes to include high levels of math, physics, and engineering.

    • Technology Systems – Project-based elective courses with career emphasis in mechanical engineering design, robotics, manufacturing processes, product development, and computer-aided manufacturing.

    • Applied Technology – Project-based courses in cinematography, computer programming, computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD), and geographic information systems (GIS).

    • Digital Arts – Project-based elective courses in computer animation, graphic design, and digital photography.

    Additionally, Clark offers 13 Advanced Placement courses, an enrichment period for additional academic support, block-scheduling, and a wide array of clubs to meet the varying academic and extra-curricular needs of our talented and multi-faceted students.

  • Clark Magnet High School and GUSD Elementary and Middle Magnet Schools require an application.

    Students are selected each year by a random lottery.

    • The lottery window for the 2019-2020 school year is closed.
    • The application window for the 2020-2021 Elementary Magnet and FLAG Programs and Roosevelt STEAM Academy is November 1, 2019 - January 31, 2020. The lottery drawing will be held on February 12, 2020 at 10:00 am at the district office.
    • Clark Magnet High School Application window is January 11, 2020 - January 31, 2020. The lottery drawing will be conducted on March 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Board Room of the Glendale Unified School District. Parents must submit their acceptance online no later than March 13, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
    • Only eligible applications submitted during the application window will be included in the 2020-2021 lottery. All late applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
