The Benjamin Franklin Elementary Foundation (BFEF) supports the development of every student by identifying needs and raising funds to support evidence-based programs that promote engagement, creativity, educational excellence, environmental citizenship, and language and cultural enrichment. Our Foundation is ten years old this year!
BFEF allows Franklin to fundraise for things that the District can't afford: extra teaching assistants and interns, teacher supplies, farm-to-table environmental education, art and music classes, maintaining our green spaces, and more. Where does your money go?
International Target Language Interns & Teaching Assistants: $76,000
Teacher Supplies & Enrichment Support: $35,000
Music & Visual Arts Teachers and Supplies: $31,000
Learning Garden & Environmental Science Program: $26,000
...along with other programs such as STEAM and Maker Fair, Franklin Film Festival, Newspaper Club and more. Our total fundraising goal is $175,000. Franklin has about 615 students that benefit from these programs. To fully fund our programs, each family would need to contribute $285 per student, which works out to about $32 per month during the school year, or just $8 per week. Grandparents, neighbors and friends are welcome to donate in your child's name.
Please help us continue the amazing programs that our children and teachers depend on. We encourage participation from every family. Any amount is appreciated - no gift is too small! -because a high family participation rate helps BFEF raise funds from corporations and foundations.
BFEF is run entirely by parent volunteers, which means our funds go right back to our students.
Please remember to request corporate matching funds if they’re offered by your company.
If you prefer to donate by check, please fill out the BFEF Gift Form and include with your gift in a sealed envelope addressed to "BFEF - ANNUAL FUNDS DRIVE" at the front office.
