Elementary school instruction (kindergarten through sixth grade) is rooted in the basic academic skills and aligned to the California State Standards for English, mathematics, science, and history/social science.
Health/substance abuse prevention, the arts, physical education, computer technology, and English language development (for English Learners) are also fundamental components of the elementary program.
Important to students’ success in elementary school is developing a good moral character and a positive self-image. Our goal is that children learn to take pride in themselves and their work while being aware of others, including persons from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Elementary school teaches much more than just the "basic skills." In partnership with the family, teachers and support staff work hard to help students achieve at their optimal levels each day.
