Hello Valley View community!
I live in Monrovia and am a happily married father of three children. I have children in sixth and eighth grades, and my oldest is starting his third year in college at the University of Washington. As a professional educator, I have consistently sought and embraced opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. I have earned two Master degrees, a Doctorate, and continue to participate in learning communities to support academic programs as we implement Common Core and critical twenty first century thinking skills.
Throughout my career, I have strived to lead by example and have dedicated myself to serve students and the educators who make a difference in students’ lives. I have been an educator for twenty-two years. I came to Valley View in 2015 and have been a site administrator since 1999. My background in special education, English language development, curriculum, and professional development contributed significantly to my efforts to create a learning community that works together to provide standards-based learning for all students. During my years as a principal, I modeled collaborative interest-based leadership with all stake-holders and created transparency that fostered a culture of trust and respect. I work diligently with staff to provide an educational experience that is engaging, challenging, rigorous, and relevant while delivered in a safe and respectful environment.
As an educational leader, I believe in the power of building respectful relationships and supporting others to empower and equip students to be prepared academically and socially in a global society.
I look forward to another year full of opportunities to serve the students, staff, and community of Valley View and Glendale Unified School District.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brook Reynolds
