Dear Glendale Unified Students, Employees, Families, and Community:
In Glendale Unified schools, we embrace diversity, focus on equity, and guarantee safety to accelerate learning and increase pathways for every student. All students have a right to attend school in a learning environment free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, violence, and intimidation. The Glendale Unified Board of Education established a policy declaring that discrimination, including discrimination against an individual or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or socioeconomic status will not be tolerated on our campuses. Our schools will continue to be safe spaces where every student can learn and thrive.
We are resolute in our commitment to provide all of our students an education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life and supports their social emotional growth. We are a diverse school district that welcomes students and families from all over the world. It is important that we embrace each other’s differences, be mindful of how our words and actions might affect others, and work together to build a stronger Glendale Unified community.
Sincerely,
Vivian Ekchian, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
