• Franklin has two volunteer-run organizations.
    1) The Franklin PTA focuses on parent education, public education advocacy, and community building. PTA collects $10 membership dues each fall. These dues fund PTA activities at Franklin (socials, meetings, etc.) as well as the Glendale, California, and National PTA organizations. PTA board meetings are held once a month.
    2) The Benjamin Franklin Elementary Foundation (BFEF) was established in 2009 by parents as a nonprofit that would allow parents to apply for grants and do unrestricted fundraising. Our Foundation is volunteer-run and unique to Franklin.
All of the net profits BFEF raises goes back to the school: we fund our international teaching interns and local aides, teacher supplies and student support, music and visual arts supplemental classes, environmental education, and community enrichment activities like Film Fest and our STEAM Faire. To pay for these programs, BFEF asks our families to set up small monthly, sustaining donations each fall. We also run a spring Dance-a-thon fundraiser. Please contact bfefboard@gmail.com if you'd like to know more.
