Kelly King, EdD has worked in the Glendale Unified School District as a teacher, teacher specialist, director, and as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services since graduating from Occidental College in 1990. After student teaching in GUSD, she couldn't imagine a better school district to set down roots and build a career centered around service to students, families, staff and community. In the past six years as Assistant Superintendent, Dr. King has supervised all operations related to Educational Services for GUSD schools and district-level departments. These departments include: Assessment and Accountability, Categorical Programs, Early Education and Extended Learning Programs, Educational Technology and Information Systems; Elementary Education, Foreign Language Academies of Glendale, Secondary Education, Special Education, Student Support Services and Teaching and Learning. Dr. King received her bachelor's degree from Occidental College, her master's degree from University of Irvine, and her doctorate from the Universities of California: Los Angeles and Irvine and has taught at the college level for Loyola Marymount University and University of Southern California.
