Dear Parents and Friends,
As the new principal of Benjamin Franklin International Foreign Language Academy of Glendale (IFLAG) Magnet Elementary School, it is my honor to join a community of educators, staff members, parents, and partners who value excellence in bilingual education. I will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure Franklin’s mission of providing a rigorous and relevant multilingual/multicultural curriculum that prepares students with a strong foundation for future learning and 21st century career readiness is realized. My background with GUSD’s dual immersion programs and magnet schools will allow for a seamless transition as I move into the role of Franklin’s principal, allowing me to jump right in and focus on each child’s education.
Advocating for the health, happiness, and safety of all children has been my practice since I started my career in education in 1991 with the Glendale Unified School District. As an elementary school teacher, teacher specialist, and administrator, I have always put what’s best for students at the forefront of all decision making. Each child comes to school with a unique background of experiences and at Franklin, not only will our staff get to know and educate your child by building on those experiences, but we will build relationships with you to create bonds that will last a lifetime.
As the new principal, I will spend my time getting to know your children. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day to be active learners and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. I am eager to see your children through your eyes and share all of the great things they will do at Franklin.
Looking forward to a great year!
