You have found the Website of Sra. Melville-Lopez, Spanish Teacher at Clark Magnet High School.
Born and raised in California, while I did not grow up speaking Spanish with my family, it was all around me and I have had a love for languages for as long as I can recall. In high school I studied French and Spanish where both of my language teachers made a great impression on me. During college years I traveled extensively through Mexico and Central America. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara and soon after found a fun place to share my love for the language here at my second home of seventeen years, Clark Magnet High School.
While teaching at Clark I completed a Masters Degree in Education, however, my years of learning carry on with my students in the classroom day in and day out. One of my favorite sayings in Spanish is: Enseñar es aprender dos veces. To teach is to learn twice. I may be learning for the seventeenth time, in my seventeenth year, but every day is a new adventure. Thank you, Students!
This school year of 2015 I find myself enjoying the journey of teaching Spanish 1-2 and 3-4 to more than 100 students.
