At Roosevelt, there are two main student publications: the school yearbook and the online student news magazine.
The school yearbook is produced under the leadership of Mr. Paul Alvarado. The class meets daily with the objective of chronicling the school year in hard-cover, bound book. The yearbook has a rich tradition that spans almost a century. Students who want to participate in the creation of the yearbook should connect with Mr. Alvarado and/or their counselor to discuss yearbook as an elective option for the upcoming school year.
Yearbooks are available for purchase from the student store throughout the year. It is wise to purchase your yearbook early in the year to make sure that there are enough in inventory to cover the demand that this once-in-a-lifetime keepsake brings.
ONLINE STUDENT MAGAZINE
The online student magazine is created as part of a club on campus that meets regularly during lunch. Students who have joined this club also work on chronicling events throughout the year but also include opinion pieces and items from popular culture. Unlike the school yearbook, this club does not require students to select this publications class as an elective. Students who would like to join this group should connect with Ms. Sandra Garcia, the online student magazine advisor.
The online student magazine is published to the RMS website. You can see examples of the publication using the links to the left.
