Clark Magnet High School opened in September 1998 offering a blend of basic curriculum with an emphasis on physical science, mathematics, and advanced technology to approximately 550 ninth and tenth grade students. The school is now a four-year specialized high school with over 1,000 students. A fair and equitable lottery is conducted by the Glendale Unified School District to determine qualified applicants. Students must be enrolled or eligible for enrollment in a Glendale District school. Students attending a Glendale District school on an Inter-district permit are not eligible. Clark Magnet High School should not be considered a magnet school for highly gifted students nor is it affiliated with the LAUSD Highly Gifted Magnet Program.
The mission of Clark Magnet High School is to provide ethnically diverse students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in highly competitive technological work. Clark graduates will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue their academic and career goals, to compete successfully in the world market, and to be creative, critical, analytical, lifelong learners.
