"Building a Better School Community TOGETHER”
Over 100 YEARS of service to our GHS students, staff & families

Welcome GHS Families to the 2018-19 school year! I would like to introduce myself. I am Lori Wiest and I am very excited to be your PTSA President! I have been involved with different levels of PTA over the last six years. I have learned so much from working with the PTSA parents, teachers and administrators. GHS has provided my Triplets with an excellent learning experience, while taking into consideration their different interests and abilities. I'm confident that your student will have a fantastic social and academic experience at Glendale High.  GHS is a proud community of parents, teachers, administrators and students, and we are the repeat GUSD Scholastic Bowl Champions!  Welcome to our school!

Please get involved in your child's high school experience.  One easy way to do that is to join the PTSA.  People often ask, “Why join the PTSA?” Because there is strength in numbers! PTSA advocates for and supports issues that involve the safety and welfare of our children and families. Our PTSA often sends representatives to Sacramento to meet with the politicians that will decide the fate of our children’s education.

Here at Glendale High, we also do what we can to support the school in its efforts to prepare our students for their future.  This fall, together with our Counseling department, we will hold our second annual College Fair which was an enormous success in its inaugural year! PTSA also supports staff luncheons, senior awards, club honorariums, drug awareness programs, and the annual Reflections National Art Contest. Due to our profitable 2017 football concessions, we successfully donated $3500 back to Glendale High to support sports programs and VAPA (visual and performing arts) programs. When you join PTSA, you help us in our efforts to make Glendale High shine!

The second most asked question, “Do I have to volunteer?” Absolutely not! But, I have to say that I have made some amazing friends and have had a lot of fun along the way! The more you are involved in your child’s education, the better your experience at Glendale High will be.

I ask you all to join PTSA. We need your help to keep moving forward. The fee is $10 for adults and $6 for students.
You can join online now,    or you can print the membership form and send it with cash or check to Anjel Besha in the front office.  I also wish to encourage you to sign up for our “Nitro Newsflash,” our weekly e-newsletter to keep you informed of all the latest news and events happening at GHS.   CLICK HERE to subscribe!

Lastly, please join us for our annual Back-to-School Association Meeting and Potluck Dinner, September 10th at 6:00 pm, in the GHS Cafeteria. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet our Principal, Dr. Benjamin Wolf, and some of our fantastic administrators as well as connect with other parents.

    Have a great year!
