Hello Ohana! My name is Ms. Iraheta and I am the school counselor for the Class of 2024. In general, my role is to help ALL students succeed in school in the areas of academic, college/career, and social/emotional development. I am here to assist you to develop the mindset that increases academic achievement, planning for your future, and managing any challenges. I am eager to work with you! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

About Ms. Iraheta

  • 1I'm a proud mom of 2 great guys! My oldest son saves lives along with other brave emergency responders. My youngest is a recent graduate from UCLA with a major in mechanical engineer. My career began over 24 years ago in GUSD as a teacher. I graduated from Cal State LA, National University, & CSUN with a Master's Degree in School Counseling & Administration along with other degrees and credentials. My mantra is to say "yes" to more happy moments while helping teenagers along the way.

    Students book a time that works for you. If your parents/guardians are booking the meeting, make sure you are available to join us. When school is in session, students must book a meeting during snack, lunch, or after school if they are not with their parents/guardians to ensure you are in class. If the matter cannot wait, you may also ask your teacher if it's okay to go to the counseling office with a pass.

  • Career Technical Education (CTE) Link

    Visit the CTE site and learn more about Hoover's pathway classes including culinary, digital arts, photography, auto, studio arts, ceramics, PSA, Careers in Education, and Stage Technician. You may also enroll in an after-school CTE class including water safety and more at https://www.gusd.net/Page/1098.

  • Glendale College Classes for High School Students Link

    Jump Start (GCC campus) and Dual Enrollment ( Hoover Campus) Classes allows you to take college classes while in high school. Jumpstart gives your college credit. Dual Enrollment gives you high school and college credit.
