Upcoming PTA Events

Come experience a new twist to a classic fun event! The newly expanded Monte Vista PTA Carnival will have all of the fun games that your kids have loved over the years, with some new additions — laser tag and the “Donkey” Derby!
The Carnival will take place on Friday, February 28, from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. on the lower field. For $15 you can get a wristband for unlimited games + two special activity tickets, which can be used to play laser tag or to race in the "Donkey" Derby.  (Family maximum is $45.) Food trucks will be on site for dinner!  Flyers with more information will be available soon in your Thursday folders or here (Carnival Flyer).
Calling all volunteers! Events like the Carnival can't happen without your help!  We will need help setting up on Thursday, February 27, and before, during, and after the event.  You can sign up to volunteer at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805084aafa923aa8-carnival1

Line up those babysitters for Friday, April 3 and get creative for your favorite TV character costume - it’s going to be a fun night of food, dancing, a costume contest, and great auction items! RSVP for the event by March 13.

    New for this year!

    • Online, silent and live auctions with hundreds of items generously donated by our local community and teachers.

    • Costume contest with Golden Road swag as prizes.

    • Stand-up comedian and Monte Vista parent Paul Kim will emcee the costume contest and live auction.

Please see the attached Invitation and Korean language flyer (special thanks to Michelle Song and Yunhee Seong for their translation help).  Look out for online auction details in Paw Prints, room parent emails and the MV Parents Facebook group.  Have an item or service you’d like to donate to the auction? Email me at michelle.mcmichael5@gmail.com.  See you April 3rd!

Students, here's your chance to show off something fun you learned through science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) at Monty’s STEM Day!  This event is similar to a Science Fair, so get your science and technology brains cranking and create something fun!  Projects will be displayed in a similar manner to science fair projects, and students will have a chance to present their projects to a group of adult mentors during the day on April 21.  This gives students a chance to get advice and comments from adults who work in science and technology fields!

Projects will be on display during the evening of April 21, from 6-8 p.m., for friends and family to come see!  We will also have a presentation by adults in the STEM industry!  All STEM Day participants will be entered into an opportunity raffle for STEM related prizes!

For more information and guidelines on how to create your STEM day packet, please go to http://tinyurl.com/MVStemDayInfo or you can click here: (information packet and flyer).  You can sign up to participate at http://tinyurl.com/MVSTEMDay.  The last day to sign up is April 1, 2020, but the class with the most entries by March 11, 2020 will get pie for Pi Day (observed on Friday 3/13/20)!

Please email MonteVistaSTEMDay@gmail.com with any questions.
