Application Information
Glendale Unified's Dual Language Immersion programs require an application. Students are selected each year by a random lottery. The application window for the 2022-23 school year will be November 1, 2021, through January 31, 2022. Certain grades require language proficiency testing.
Only eligible applications submitted during the application window will be included in the 2022-23 lottery. All late applicants will be placed on a waiting list. The lottery drawing will be held on February 9, 2022 at the District Office.

Steps to Apply
-
Step 1
Sign up for a tour
Dual language immersion program tours are strongly encouraged. Sign-ups are available on the school website. If your child is selected for a program to which you have not toured, you may be asked to complete a tour to finalize enrollment.
-
Step 2
Complete an application
The online application can be found here. Applications will be accepted between November 1, 2021, and January 31, 2022, to participate in the random student selection in February.
-
Step 3
Sign up for a language assessment
If your child speaks the target language of the program to which you are applying, make an appointment for your child to be assessed when you apply online. If this is not available through the application, a district representative will contact you. By passing the assessment, your child would qualify as a target language proficient speaker for the random student selection.
-
Step 4
If an offer is made, complete enrollment paperwork
Following notification of admission to a dual language immersion program, a district-required enrollment packet must be completed and returned to the school within three weeks of receipt. Admission to the school is not confirmed until the enrollment packet is complete and approved by the school.
-
Step 5
If out-of-district, obtain a release and apply for an inter-district permit
On or after March 1, 2022, apply for a release from your district of residence and apply for an inter-district permit with GUSD at www.gusdpermits.com. A permit must be obtained in order to enroll.
