• Our Foundation funds an art teacher who works with all students throughout the year. Students do visual arts projects that are aligned with the California State Standards, including drawing, painting, and ceramics (using the kiln purchased by Foundation). Our classroom teachers also regularly incorporate drawing, collage, and arts education within their lessons in history, science, math, and language.
In addition, the Franklin PTA provides free arts assemblies during the annual PTA Reflections Contest. We recently invited artist and author Vanessa Brantley-Newton.
If you would like to volunteer to lead an art project after school (especially in one of our four target languages), or if you have connections to low-cost or donated art supplies, please contact bfefcommunications@gmail.com.
