How is 6th grade different from 5th grade at Verdugo Academy?

The difference, moving from 5th to 6th grade, is that the K12 curriculum is no longer used, and generally the individual meeting is with the student and teacher and occasionally the parents/ guardians are invited to the meetings. In addition, the student goes from receiving number grades to letter grades.

What if parents/students want to return to their home school?

Parents/guardians wishing to return to their home school site after committing with Verdugo Academy for the 2022-2023 school year will need to contact their home school to re-enroll.

We highly recommend that families commit to independent study for the semester/trimester or an entire year for consistency in academics and to ensure academic gaps aren’t created by students moving from one program to another. However, we understand that situations arise and may need to return. Please let us know if this does come up and we will work with you to determine the best placement.
