As we will be learning and growing in community together this year, thought you might like to know more about my background and teaching experiences.
I have been in the field of education for 22 years and this is my eleventh year teaching second grade. In 1998, I began working for Rowland Unified School District and after getting married, decided to work closer to home with the Pasadena Unified School District. I worked with them for ten years as a full-time and substitute teacher until 2012.
I joined Mountain Avenue as a second grade teacher in 2013 and have come to love working with the students and families in this community.
I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and lived in East Whittier during my early years. For my undergraduate work, I attended Whittier College and then went on to get my teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona. In 2006, I received my Masters in Education from the University of La Verne.
My husband Eric and I live in Arcadia and have three children. We love spending time together, traveling, and playing outdoor sports.
When not teaching I love to exercise, read, hike, garden, and work on creative craft projects.
