    MOUNTAIN AVENUE PTA PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

     

    We are proud to be part of a community in which we can provide many opportunitues to engage our families and inspire our children. If you wish to help with any of these programs or events, please reach out to PTA at MountainAvePTA@gmail.com.

      

    RECURRING PROGRAMS/EVENTS ORGANIZED BY PTA

    PTA Association Meetings (monthly): Stay informed about our school. Learn more about PTA.

    Teacher Coffees (monthly): Monthly treats for our teachers and staff, presented by a different grade level each month.

    Assemblies (throughout the school year): Special program presentations, from outside vendors, covering various topics like the environment, bullying, science, etc.

    Art Docent Program (throughout the school year): Volunteer-led art classes, tailored to the different grade levels. -- not currently scheduled for this year

    Beautification (a few times throughout the school year): Volunteer efforts to keep our school looking great!

    Spirit Wear Sales (2-4 times throughout the school year): Mountain Avenue gear sold to show school spirit. Go Bears!

    Yearbook (throughout the school year, but especially in April and May): 

     

    ONE-TIME PROGRAMS/EVENTS ORGANIZED BY PTA (in chronological order)

    No Sweat Fundraiser & Membership Drive (beginning of school year): Joint drive of membership campaign and our largest fundraiser of the year.

    Reflections Art Program (Fall: Kick-off in September. Entries due in early October. Awards ceremony in November.): National PTA Art Program - provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life

    Red Ribbon Week (usually last week of Octobter): Celebrating healthy choices with fun spirit days

    Halloween Carnival (mid/late October): Halloween celebration

    Scholastic Book Fair (usually early December): Buying books to support our school

    Holiday Shoppe (usually mid/late December): not currently scheduled for this year

    Drama Program (usually January): a week-long event, from auditions to performance of a musical -- not currently scheduled for this year

    Science Fun Fair (usually late January/early February): Any student (grades TK-6) may submit a project in any science field that fuels their curiosity.

    Variety Show (usually February): Mountain Avenue's Got Talent! annual talent show

    PTA Founders' Day (early March): celebration of the founding of PTA, including the presentation of Honorary Service Awards

    Culture Night (usually April): celebrating the diverse cultures of Mountain Avenue

    Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (early May): PTA showers teachers and staff with treats to show our appreciation

    Art Night (May): gallery viewing of our Mountain Avenue artists, with art work from every student -- coincides with Open House

    Field Day (June): end-of-the-year field "sport" day, friendly blue-vs-yellow competition
