Additional Information

  • All classes are in-person. We have two online classes (Health and APEX) that students who are taking regular summer school can take. These online classes would be an addition to the regular summer school schedule. See descriptions below.

    • Health Online is a class in which students work independently on the work posted by their teacher in Google Classroom. The teacher will let you know the details of any virtual meetings as needed that students must attend. Students may only take this class IF they are enrolled in our regular summer school. Health online PLUS Living Earth 1-2, for example.

    • APEX Online (10th - 12th only) is a self-paced online program in which students work independently to make up classes. Counselors enroll students in regular summer school classes PLUS APEX online, as needed. Students are able to make up one or two more classes in addition to the 10 credits in regular summer school. English 9 1-2 PLUS APEX for example.

      How does APEX work?

      - Students log in to their APEX account and are assigned one class at a time.
      - Students complete the lessons at their own pace in the evenings, weekends, holidays.
      - The more time students spend completing each lesson, the faster they complete the class and earn 5 credits per class.
      - Once students are ready to take the quizzes and exams, they notify their teacher and work together to complete them.
-The goal is to complete 1-2 semester classes (5 to 10 credits) in the 5 weeks of summer school in addition to the regular summer school classes.
      - APEX teachers will invite students to their Google Classroom. They will post information about the class including any Zoom meeting times that students must attend.
      - If you do not hear from them by Tuesday, 6/21 am, please email your teacher.
