Verdugo Academy

2020-2021 Enrollment Opportunities

  • We know that the new school year may bring uncertainty for you and your family.  Verdugo Academy may be an option for your child's enrollment. We are currently closed for the summer and will reopen at the beginning of the school year.

    Program 1:

Verdugo Academy Independent Study program is an optional program that provides families with GUSD approved curriculum and parents provide all of the instruction and support from home designing their own learning structure for the week. Students meet once a week at the school site to turn in and pick up new assignments as well as take assessments. Additional requirements will be explained during enrollment. All interested students are required to take a reading assessment prior to enrollment to determine if it is the proper placement. Interested families will be contacted late summer to schedule the reading assessment.

    Program 2:

In addition, GUSD is currently developing a virtual TK-12 instructional program for students who are unable to attend school due to COVID-19 or other reasons in the fall. This online academy would provide each student virtual instruction with a GUSD credentialed teacher, using GUSD approved curriculum. In addition, a parent or someone designated as a learning coach from home would be required to support and assist their children. This program is still being developed and more information will be available later this summer.
