Verdugo Academy

2020-2021 Enrollment

  • We know that the new school year may bring uncertainty for you and your family.  Verdugo Academy may be an option for your child's enrollment. We are currently closed for the summer and will reopen at the beginning of the school year.

    ***UPDATE 7/14/20***

Thank you for your interest to Verdugo Academy.  We know that this time of uncertainty can be very challenging for you and your family. On July 14th, the GUSD Board of Education and Superintendent, Dr. Ekchian, have made the decision to have all students participating in an online distance learning model for the start of the school year.  This means that you can stay at your own school and continue learning online. We will not have an additional online program through Verdugo Academy Independent Study.  For more information please see the news release from 7/14/20 https://www.gusd.net/news/return-to-school?fbclid=IwAR3OtFeCC0pnp1HR9QDErnPifudAOodOtvbz85Zgzocqh2biRI7miXHugIM

If you are not currently enrolled at a GUSD school and live within the school boundaries, please contact student services regarding enrollment at your local school. https://www.gusd.net/Page/13788

Verdugo Academy Independent Study program is an optional program that provides families with GUSD approved curriculum and parents provide all of the instruction and support from home designing their own learning structure for the week with the supervision by a credentialed teacher. Students meet once a week at the school site to turn in and pick up new assignments as well as take assessments. Additional requirements will be explained during enrollment. All interested students are required to take a reading assessment prior to enrollment to determine if it is the proper placement. Interested families will be contacted late summer to schedule the reading assessment.
