    Family Academy Sessions

    The GUSD Family Academy was developed based on parents' needs and will highlight information and services from various departments throughout the school year. All parents are encouraged to participate in these virtual sessions. For registration and information, please click here.

     

    Newcomer Family Chats

    The District offers Family Chat meetings to all Glendale Newcomer families. These meetings are an effective way to introduce families to the various programs and services available to them throughout the District and community. Each meeting will address a different topic. School Site Opportunities for Parent and Family Engagement

    School Site Council

    Schools operating a program funded through categorical funds must form a School Site Council (SSC). The SSC develops the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), reviews and updates the plan annually, proposes how LCAP and categorical funds are spent, and presents the SPSA to the local governing board for approval.

    English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

    Each California public school with 21 or more English learners must form an English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). The ELAC advises administrators, teachers, and staff in the development of a school site plan for English learners; presents their plan to the School Site Council for inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA); and assists in the development of the schoolwide needs assessment.
