The Italian program at Franklin extends its gratitude to the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles for their generous donation of books to be added to our library. We thank our partners for their support in promoting Italian language and culture by adding books of high interest that students will enjoy reading.
The Glendale Unified School District extends their deepest gratitude to Fondazione Italia for their generous grant to the Italian program at Franklin Magnet School, Toll Middle School, and Hoover High School. The grant funds are generously provided by the Italian government under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles. Through their financial support, the district is able to fund teaching assistants who are native speakers of Italian in the elementary program and help supplement the funding for the secondary Italian teacher as the program grows. Their contribution is instrumental to the success of the Italian program throughout the district, and GUSD is thankful for their ongoing partnership.
We are pleased to announce that Franklin Magnet School received a grant from the FACE Foundation for the 2019-2020 school year. These funds will be used to host a French program Teaching Intern to enhance classroom instruction as a language and cultural ambassador. This is the second consecutive year Franklin has earned the FACE Foundation grant for instructional support in French!
