  • Since the beginning of the pandemic, Glendale Unified has implemented multiple layers of mitigation on our campuses to protect students and employees while continuing to create a welcoming environment and foster a positive culture of learning for all students. Glendale Unified schools never fully closed.

Since March 2020, the District has:

    • Provided childcare
    • Hybrid instruction
    • Expanded learning opportunities for thousands of students

This includes hosting more than 10,000 students on campus this summer for summer school, summer camps, athletics, and enrichment. Based on 16 months of successfully operating on-campus academic, expanded learning, and childcare programs, we are confident that the health and safety measures we have in place are effective at protecting our students, employees, families, and community as we return fully to in-person learning.

The District’s health and safety measures are continuously updated based on guidelines from the California and Los Angeles County Public Health Departments.

  • Short-term and long-term independent study options are available for students and families who are unable to attend in-person learning. Contact your school counselor or administrator if you are interested in independent study. Learn more and find answers to frequently asked questions.
