State law requires that children must be at least 4 years, 7 months of
age as of July 2 prior to the opening of year-round classes and at least
4 years, 9 months of age by September 2 for schools on the traditional
schedule to enter kindergarten. To enroll in first grade, the childs
age must be at least 5 years, 9 months, also by September 2. Proof of Residency Required Most students new to the district need only go to their appropriate level
school of attendance in order to register. Proof of residency in the Glendale
Unified School District will be required of all new enrollees. A transfer
slip from the former school is helpful in registration. The new school
will request that a students records be forwarded directly from
the former school. |

Office of Student Support Services at the Administration Center. The parent or guardian of a child must present proof of age before a student will be admitted to school. Such proof may be in the form of a birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport. Proof of Immunizations State law mandates that students ages 4-17 complete immunization requirements that include protection from polio, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) and tetanus (DPT), measles (Rubeola), |
mumps and rubella (MMR). Before a student is admitted to a Glendale school,
parents must provide written proof that the child has been immunized. |
