During the 1999-00 school year, the State of California and the federal government bestowed its highest honors on Crescenta Valley High School with its California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon awards. The school offers a strong and varied instructional program endeavoring to meet the needs of all students. Special programs such as Advanced Placement, Honors, Special Education, English as a Second Language, Vocational-Technical Training, Regional Occupational Program, Work Experience, and Community Service Learning are offered. Some students have the option to attend local colleges for specialized classes. Other particularly strong programs at Crescenta Valley High School are athletics, instrumental music, choral music, dance visual arts, Academy of Science and Medicine, and AFJROTC. Crescenta Valley's enrollment of 2410 students represents a rich and diverse mixture of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
